The first golfing break this year was to Berwickshire and East Lothian in April. We stayed in the Craw Inn, Auchencrow, which had nice rooms, a good restaurant and an excellent selection of real ales. We played at Eyemouth, North Berwick and Castle Park. Here are a few photos (if you click on them an enlarged view should open).

The second trip this year was back to our old favourite base at Innerleithen. We played once more at Peebles, West Linton and Castle Park, where we have been several times before. I haven't posted any new photos from these courses as they are well covered in the 2008 and 2009 galleries. On the final day we played at two Willie Park Jnr designed courses first laid out around the turn of the 20th century; Innerleithen and Selkirk. We've played the former once before and there are a few pictures in last year's gallery, but I've added some more for this year showing not just what beautiful countryside surrounds this course, but also how it's been used to create the character of the course long before industrial strength diggers, bulldozers, and such equipment was available to the designer. The photos from Selkirk continue to show this skill at its best. I've made a note to self to find out a bit more about Willie Park designed courses and see if we can include them in future tours. (If you click on any of the photos an enlarged view should open).
